Primary Student Council 2025-26

Why have a Student Council?

To begin with, Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) says that children and young people should have a say in decisions that affect their lives.

What is a Student Council?

A Student Council is a group of elected learners who represent their peers and take on opportunities to develop leadership skills by planning events, making decisions, and contributing to the school community under the mentorship of teachers.
Having a Student Council allows learners to voice their opinions, take on leadership roles, and actively participate in decisions that impact them. It nurtures fairness, collaboration, and accountability, while also preparing them for the responsibilities of local and global citizenship.

In the Primary School, elections were held through a vibrant and democratic process. Students from PYP 3 to 5 campaigned, delivered speeches, and voted responsibly to elect their representatives. Whole-school voting was conducted for Sports Captain, SDG Ambassadors, and Editorial Liaison, house-wise voting for House Captains, and class voting for Class Representatives.

On 10th September 2025, during the Investiture Ceremony, the elected members of the 2025–26 Prometheus Primary Student Council were officially announced. These student leaders will now work together with their advisors to create meaningful initiatives, encourage student voice, and make a positive impact in the Primary School.
